Sleek Ring
Alright here goes nothing: what should I get: X-Box 360 or PS3????
I know this is a little late in coming, but i typically wait for the "next gen" systems to drop in price, and until the second, less buggy version of the play station comes out, like the sleek version of PS1 and PS2 ( i.e. i waited maybe 4-5 years to buy a PS2 and in 02 or 03 I bought the uh nintendo thingamabobber. However this time around ive been sort of compelled to break this trend although i hear about the red ring of death plaguing xbox, and bugs in PS3 and such.
I play mainly football games FIFA 08 namely at the moment, and long story short, im interested in playing it online. Id prefer to get a PS3 but i think the online experience might be better on 360. Well anyways, what do you all think i should do? does one have better graphics, console reliability, internet, experience, game selection than the other? let me know and thanks
Alright, here's the thing. You've picked a domain that both consoles have upsides on, so you really do have a choice.
The Xbox 360 is a bit cheaper to start, but you would need to pay for Xbox Live Gold membership for online play. It's not horribly expensive though, and Xbox Live is the best online gaming system right now. The Playstation Network is free, and it's pretty good, but not Xbox Live good.
Graphics, both are great systems, although the PS3 seems to have slightly better capacity at the highest ends. Unless you have a 1080p HDTV and expect the best graphics just for the sake of being the best, both systems provide very high quality graphics.
Console reliability, PS3 hands down. However, Microsoft has extended the Xbox 360 warranty to 3 years in regards to the "red ring of death", so you aren't risking yourself in that regard.
As for game selection, right now it's 360 hands down. More games, better games, and more vendors at the moment, as well as a reputation for FPS games and the best online play. The PS3 has the Blu-Ray player though, and that's an advantage for some people.
In the end, the 360 is the more versatile gaming system right now, but the PS3 is the more impressive multimedia entertainment system. I'd say if you're the type to have a 50 inch HDTV in your house and a surround sound system, you might appreciate the PS3 more, but if you're more interested in online gaming, go for the 360.
